Frequently asked questions

Common questions, honest answers.

If you have a question that isn't covered here, email info@moxmulligan.com — we'll answer it and probably add it to this page.

How does the buying process work?

Three steps. First, you send us a list or photos of what you have — email, DM, or the contact form on the sell page. Set names and rough counts are enough to start; you don't need a finished spreadsheet. Second, we evaluate against current TCGplayer market and send back an itemized offer within 1–2 business days, with our offer percentage clearly applied to each card. Third, you decide. If you accept, we email a prepaid shipping label (or arrange local handoff in the OKC metro), and pay you the same day cards arrive.

How fast do I get an offer after I send my list?

1–2 business days for collections under 500 cards. Larger collections (full long-boxes, estate stock) may take 3–5 business days because each card is checked against current market individually. We'll always confirm receipt of your message within a few hours so you know it landed.

What if my collection is small — is it worth contacting you?

Yes, if there's at least one card worth more than ~$25, or 100+ rares total. We're not the right buyer for a single $5 rare or a stack of common cards under $1, but a binder of older rares or a few Reserved List singles is exactly what we're looking for. When in doubt, just send a quick description — a one-sentence reply costs us nothing and saves you wondering.

Do you grade cards or send to PSA, BGS, or CGC?

We don't grade cards in-house — that's what professional grading services like PSA, BGS, and CGC are for. What we do is honest condition assessment to the standard NM / LP / MP / HP / DMG scale, with photos showing exactly why a card got the grade it did. If a card you're selling looks gradable (potential 9 or 10), we'll mention it — your collection might be worth more raw to a grader than sold to us.

How are payments made?

Three options. Zelle (fastest, no fee, U.S. bank required). PayPal Goods & Services (small fee deducted from offer to cover the 2.9% PayPal charge — buyer protected). Personal or business check (mailed same day, takes 5–7 days to arrive). For collections over $1,000, we recommend Zelle or wire to keep things clean.

Do you accept consignment?

Not currently. Consignment adds operational complexity (separate inventory tracking, separate payouts, longer hold times) that doesn't match how we run the shop. If you want to consign, we'd recommend ABU Games or a similar established shop. We may add consignment in the future once we have the volume to support it.

What happens if there are counterfeit cards in my collection?

We'll flag them for you. Counterfeits in vintage MTG are unfortunately common — Mana Vault, Reserved List staples, and dual lands are heavily counterfeited. We have decent fake detection skills (light test, weight, surface texture) but we won't buy any card we suspect is fake. If you have a card pulled from a suspicious source (eBay lot, found in a flea market, inherited from someone who bought online a decade ago), we'll let you know and explain why. The cards stay yours; we just won't make an offer on them.

Do you buy from outside Oklahoma?

Yes, mail-in collections from anywhere in the United States are welcome. We provide a prepaid USPS Priority Mail shipping label for collections over $200 estimated value. International sellers — we're not currently buying internationally due to customs and currency complications, but check back as the shop matures.

What about modern Standard cards?

We're more open to Standard than most buylists. The default answer is no — Standard-legal cards still in print at retail are easier for you to sell directly on TCGplayer or to a local game store, and the market moves fast. But there are real exceptions, and we look at every collection on its merits. If a card has staying power beyond Standard — Modern or Commander playability, recurring tournament results, art or finish that holds value — we'll likely make an offer. Recent set chase mythics, Collector Booster exclusives, and cards that look like long-term staples are exactly the kind of speculation we're willing to take. Send us the list. If we think a card is stable, we'll quote it.

Why should I sell to you instead of listing on TCGplayer myself?

If you have time, patience, and a few dozen hours to spare, listing yourself on TCGplayer or eBay will net you more money. The trade-off is real labor: photographing every card, writing accurate condition descriptions, pricing against the live market, packing each order, generating shipping labels, handling returns and disputes, and waiting weeks-to-months for slow movers to sell. Selling to us means you do none of that — you get one offer, one shipment, one payment, and your weekends back. The right choice depends on which is more valuable to you: maximum dollars or minimum effort. Both are legitimate answers.
